The more you offer, the more people you serve, and the types of clients you have the more money you will make- You will get burnt out very quickly. When you niche down and make your business more specific, you will make a difference in your business and you will make more money.
When first starting a business, feeling like you have to do everything before niching down- do not overcomplicate things, it doesn’t have to be perfect the first time around. Work with generic roles until you niche down to one specific area. It doesn’t hurt to get paid to learn. Then amplify what you love when you find it.
Actionable Steps of How to Start an Online Business and Get Clients:
Make a plan of action- write down tasks you enjoy and then narrow down to monetized services.
Assist someone or create tasks- see if you really enjoy the service.
Provide a service for 6 months and see if you still enjoy it- it is ok to pivot to a different service if you do not enjoy the first, second, or third one you land on.
You can find clients on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok- depending on your ideal client and where they spend their time. By answering questions and being helpful on social media, will get your name out there.
